Committed to Protecting Our Oceans
At Sea Teach, our commitment to marine environment protection and Ocean Conservation and Sustainability goes beyond our professional projects, it is part of our daily lives. We believe everyone in the maritime and tourism sectors shares responsibility to protect the sea and preserve its biodiversity for future generations.
Our team actively promotes environmental awareness, sustainability, and ocean conservation through EU-funded educational initiatives and hands-on local action in Mallorca.
THE CLEAN BOATING CHARITY
As part of this commitment, the Sea Teach team founded the Clean Boating Association, a non-profit movement dedicated to reducing plastic pollution in the Mediterranean Sea.
The Clean Boating Movement engages the pleasure boating and charter communities of Mallorca to take an active role in cleaning our seas. By involving captains, crews, and visitors, the initiative transforms boating activities into opportunities for marine stewardship and ocean care.
Our goal is simple yet powerful:
To reduce plastic litter in our seas by inspiring the nautical community to act, protect, and preserve.
WE ARE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF EMSEA
Sea Teach is also a proud member of the European Marine Science Educators Association (EMSEA), a network of educators, scientists, and organizations working together to promote ocean literacy and marine education across Europe and beyond.
Our participation in EMSEA strengthens our role as an active advocate for environmental education, ensuring that sustainability principles are embedded in every training, project, and partnership we lead.
WINNER OF THE EU4OCEAN AWARD 2022
Sea Teach proudly received the EU4Ocean Award 2022 for its outstanding contribution to marine education and ocean literacy through the BlueGeneration Project.
During the European Maritime Day (EMD) conference held in Ravenna, Italy on 19–20 May 2022, Silja Teege, Managing Director of Sea Teach, represented the BlueGeneration partnership and signed the Declaration for Blue Education in Europe.
This commitment reinforces our dedication to strengthening blue education, promoting sustainable ocean awareness, and empowering young people to pursue careers within the blue economy.
